WEEEEEEEEEE! Juz got back from the Ekka Funfair. It was great fun except that i had 'wind' in the stomach and wasn't in my best mood. Anyway, upon reaching there and seeing all the happy faces, i did cheer up and started to feel the whole 'ekka spirit'! There were tons of ppl wearing different kinda thing on their head. Fancy hats... wigs.... fairy wings... devil handbands, angel halo... haha.
Some background info abt Ekka again, mentioned abt it a little in my previous entry. It's a once in a year event, and sometime like 'River Hongbao' 'cept that it's in a totally different concept. The fair is definately held at a bigger scale and there're tons of places to explore. Farmers bring their farm animals to the fair for competitions, kinda like a traditional thing. There are prob over 20 different types of 'tents' to visit. Each tent have got a different kinda theme, like there's wood tent, fruits tent, wool tent, blacksmith tent, vegetables tent, market tent, cow tent, sheep tent, cat tent... and the list goes on and on. Didn't go into all the tents thou. Beside the tents, there's a HUGE amusement park where there're lotsa different rides for the thrill seekers and the scary cats alike. Ha. This is prob one of the few times i will pay to sit in a 'Ghost Train', i am juz not a ghost train kinda person. I prefer more thrilling rides, but i joined them for fun of it and got more than i bargained for. I thgt that i will be steady steady cos aiya... ghost train only right... and i already expect ppl to hide and then scare us. But damn it! I got a scare from this guy who appeared outta no where and because the ride was already ending i let my guard down and ... yeah ~ i got a fright ~ from a stupid ghost train ride. Lol.
There's this particular tent which we stayed on for quite a while, it's the showbag tent! There're probably a zillion different showbag ( kinda like goodies bags ) in there , in each showbags , u'll find an assorted kinda stuffs and u can purchase them at a cheaper price than if u get them indivdually outside. They've got bags filled with chocolates of every kind, bags with sweets, with mags , with lollipops, with spongebob stuffs ....etc... I got one really girly bag for my jovina. Juz thgt that she will like it... haha... Got myself 2 carebears as well... the small funshine and champion bear. And a timeout chocolate bag. :D
We also went into the Cow tent... which ... well... reminds me of COW. When i think of cow , i think of udder. LOL. And since we could juz walked into the tent with cows lining our path at really close range, i took my chance to snap a pic of a cow's udder! How nice! Something for cow now... prob going to develope the pic and give it to him as a gift. Haha. We were abt to leave the tent when this farmer pull a cow and walked in front of us. This cow then started to 'rain shit' right in front of us~ OMG! it was really like raining shit~ splattered all over the ground in a pitter patter kinda sound. LOL. Luckily we didn't walked too near that cow. Shld have took a picture of that pile of shit...
We also went into the sheep tent , there were rams, lamb... etc... haha. So cute. Actually get to touch them. At first i was quite apprehensive, i mean living in singapore... dun get to interact so much with farm animals. Haha. So i juz used my fingers to touch the side part of the sheep. Look so dumb ,esp when little kids were tugging at it's head and stuffs. And then i realised that they basically were quite tame. So started to pull the sheep's wool... haha! i dun think they felt anything. Their wool were so thick~ i bet they felt warm in there! Time for a shave mate!
Then we saw this lama which is really really tall and huge! Awwwwwwww! when i was abt to take a picture of it, it started to stick its tongue out like :p... and salivate~ but it was friendly thou.
Went into the fruits tent, and saw quite a few display of fruits . Like they used fruits to come up with different designs. Quite a fabulous idea cos it juz made me so smile to see the lemons , the apples, the oranges , strawberries all lined up. Looked as thou they're smiling at u. Look so bright and cheery and makes me happy.
There was a cat tent. Didn't went in. ARGH~ cats~! Juz dun fancy 'em.
Every nooks and corner of the Ekka Fair was filled with sights and tents and more tents... dun think we completed walking ard the whole fair. Was dead tired , we juz decided that we were done for the day. Took the bus back to the city... there.... my first EKKA EXPERIENCE!!!!!
It's back to school day tml. Going to have 2 practicals in a day. Human bio personal response assignment due on monday! DAMN IT! i haven't even started.
Time for some eye-shut.
Love
Jorine
