Dear diary,
I am feeling so very uncomfortable.... damn the insect bite... i've got two huge baluku from duno what kinda insect yesterday and it swelled up to a huge bump. Realised it only after my afternoon nap , looks terrible and it's scaring me a little cos i've never got a insect bite which swell to this size... i kinda knew i got a bite when it bite~ i was sitting on the floor trying to whack some cupboard out from the fridge cos it got stuck there when there was this stinging sensation on my arm followed by my knee. I rub on the sensation and it kinda went away, so... it didn't bother me too much, until after my afternoon nap , i realised that there was a huge bump on my arm caused by the bloody bite~ damn! it's swelled up so much and it's really itchy as well. Applied tiger balm but it only relieve me for a while... hope the swelling and itch will subside soon. I've ulcer as well~ boohooo... and i can feel like i'm getting quite 'heaty' as well... must be the tibits... gonna stop eating them!!!
I was browsing thru some blogs juz now when i came across someone who blogged abt how this news concerning an australian of vietnamese origin who was caught trying to smuggle 400 g of heroin in changi airport while on transit back to australia and inevitably sentenced to death , stirred up some anti-sg sentiments . So there's this forum which contain an article abt how there such not be any capital punishment anymore, no one deserve to be given the death penalty and how it shld be abolished . Anyhow, this article actually called upon australians to boycott singapore~ anything to do with singapore , like not travelling there, not using their pdt etc...
My take on it , YES, he deserves the death penalty. No doubt , yes , he may be young and it's juz too cruel to take away a young life . He may be trying to help raise money to clear his brother's debt. BUT what happens IF he managed to smuggle the drug back ? How many ppl will get their hand on those... getting addicted to drugs~ is essentially bad for anyone, i mean u get ur life wasted and all. He knows the strict law in sg and stuffs... he knows it .... then why did he choose to do it knowing the 'risk' and consquences he's going to face? IF sg allows this young man to get away with the death penalty, there will be a loophole for anyone in future. As a singaporean , i do not want a single person to start giving ppl the slightest impression that we're ok with drugs... We have our take on it and we're firm on it. Nanny state or whatever... -petty dictatorship that pretends to be so much more - o well...most singaporean are happy with the low crime rate and relatively safe environment we're living in. Of cos not all australians agrees with the boycott sg sentiment. Terribly naive really... we're not the only state who impose the death penalty and really... this death penalty helps to keep our country relatively clean -drug addicts wise. So much thgts ... haha.... but i can imagine how some ppl from other countries think that we're a really enclosed state with super duper strict laws , listens to the gov all the time and such... it's really not that bad.... hahaha... maybe these ppl shld come stay in sg for a week or two... the way how some ppl here talk abt sg makes me laugh... hilarious LAH!!!! Someone told me... this taiwanese guy thgt that u can walk from one end of sg to another end...~ erm... yes u can do that ONLY if u've strong strong legs... i THINK ppl prob think of sg as a ridiculously strict country because of the chewing gum thingy? hahaha...
Someone from the forum said this. When in rome do what the romans do. TOTALLY agree. I mean i find it totally ridiculous that we can't get alcohol in seven elevens here.... alcohol can only be bought from bottleshops or pubs etc. Not supermarkets even... so... yeah... But i recognised that it's the way the system works here.... and i respect it. It's time everyone else respect how OUR system works and abide by it.
That's juz how i feel , but well... ha... anyone's entitled to their own views and all. http://blogs.smh.com.au/thecontrarian/archives/2005/10/shouldnt_we_be.html this is the link to that article.
Gonna have my lunch b4 i start mugging.
Love
Jorine
